Lunch Suggestions
Healthy Lunches Your Family Will Enjoy
Eating a healthy lunch in the middle of the day is an important way to avoid the temptation presented by the unhealthy snacks found in school and office vending machines. And yet, it can be a challenge since lunches must travel with family members to wherever their day takes them. Here are a few general suggestions for lunch menus:
- Raw vegetables of choice
- Salads
- Vegetable pita pockets, collard wraps, or organic low-sodium vegetable or wheat wraps filled with a variety of vegetables, hummus, and greens
- Hummus with vegetables, such as broccoli, cucumbers, carrots, celery, and cauliflower
- Nut butters
- A cooked dish, such as a vegetable soup, lentils/beans, or leftovers from a previous dinner
